Munich, October 2, 2019: STIHL Tirol GmbH, which has worked with valantic since 2013, will host the Supply Chain Excellence Day. This subsidiary of the STIHL Group, which specializes in garden equipment, responds to its customers’ volatile, seasonally fluctuating demands with flexible lean manufacturing and transparent supply chain management based on the real-time-capable APS system wayRTS. At the open house event, STIHL Tirol will provide insights into its production and planning processes. valantic will showcase new possibilities, methods, and solutions for sales & operations planning and supply chain management in the digital age.
Agile reaction to fluctuating demands, ever-accurate and transparent planning, simulation of planning alternatives, optimized supplier management, and structured forecasting processes – there are numerous examples of supply chain excellence at STIHL Tirol. The cooperation between valantic’s digitalization experts and this Tyrolean manufacturer of garden equipment began in 2013 with a successful optimization project for inventories and adherence to schedules. Since then, STIHL Tirol has been a reference user of the wayRTS software.
The experts’ meeting on November 5, 2019 will be held in the newly completed expansion building of the STIHL plant in Langkampfen. STIHL’s development and production of lawnmowers and other ground-guided garden equipment has been expanded to include a total of 20,000 square meters. During the plant tour, SCM specialists, production and logistics planners in particular will gain insights into the manufacturer’s flexible planning and production processes. The process and IT consultants from the valantic Competence Center Supply Chain Excellence and the Planning and Procurement departments of STIHL Tirol GmbH look forward to questions and a lively exchange of ideas with the visitors.
