MyTriflex: B2B customer portal with SAP integration and self-service functions

For over 40 years, Triflex has been synonymous with innovative technologies and outstanding expertise in the fields of waterproofing, coating and marking. To get even closer to its customers, the company wanted a MyTriflex portal that would provide digital services along the entire value chain. One challenge was the integration of the existing SAP infrastructure and its connection to the online store based on Adobe Commerce. The valantic team worked closely with Triflex on the implementation, always taking into account the target group and the product portfolio.

With more than 40 years of experience, Triflex is the leading specialist in Europe for PMMA liquid plastics as well as waterproofing and coating systems. The family-owned company pursues a holistic approach and acts in conjunction with high-quality products, committed employees, specialized experts and planners. The challenge

Triflex aimed to merge the digital sales and information processes into a central B2B self-service platform. The aim was to improve efficiency for both customers and the internal sales team. The platform was to be introduced in the German market in the first stage of the project – with the prospect of gradually opening it up to international customers.

The project focused on fulfilling these key requirements

  • Development of an e-commerce platform that addresses the needs of the B2B target group (customer centricity approach) and supports the internal sales team.
  • Comprehensive presentation of the range of sealing systems for the German market, including the possibility of a roll-out in other countries.
  • User-friendly shopping experience thanks to the integration of a product configurator that allows special product types to be customized according to personal requirements.
  • Versatile functions on the ordering platform such as simple reorders, stock orders via barcode or partial deliveries.
  • Seamless integration of the MyTriflex platform with existing systems such as .SAP ERP, CRM or PIM in order to link product data including prices, orders and customer data and display them centrally and clearly.

Solutions and results

Several workshops were held to set the course for the future digital customer portal and the integration of the existing SAP infrastructure. In this context, the teams opted for an MVP approach in order to achieve a fast market entry, gain valuable customer feedback and create the basis for expansions and internationalization.
Taking Triflex’s requirements into account, the valantic team implemented a customized e-commerce platform with a focus on the B2B target group. Adobe Commerce was used as a flexible and scalable system, which ensured seamless integration with the other systems thanks to the composable commerce approach.

The following measures were implemented:

  • Customer portal with single sign-on (SSO) login: Uniform access for Triflex stakeholders such as sales staff and customers via a central portal. This enables access to other systems such as the information portal and online store.
  • Triflex online stores: Time-flexible and uncomplicated purchasing option with order tracking via Track & Trace and viewing of order history for rapid reordering.
  • Triflex information portal: Provision of comprehensive detailed information on products and systems as well as planning and training documents for download.
  • Composable commerce approach with integration of CRM, SAP ERP, payment and more: Use of standardized processes and interfaces via standard APIs for seamless linking, mapping and further processing of customer, product and price data.

The platform was consistently geared towards the needs of the target group to increase customer proximity. The basis for this was provided by detailed target group interviews, which were conducted prior to the design and implementation.

The platform provides a technically stable basis for a future internationalization strategy and opens up additional sales potential through expanded market opportunities.

Further steps in the course of the project

The following measures are still planned in cooperation with Triflex:

  • The integration of the Triflex system calculator with the online store makes it possible to add product results directly to the shopping cart, which further simplifies the ordering process.
  • Introduction of an option to quickly reorder products or easily retrieve past orders.
  • Expansion of the product portfolio and rollout of the platform to international markets.
