Our highlights in 2024

SAP Analytics Cloud highlights in 2024

The SAP Analytics Cloud has continuously evolved through quarterly updates over the past year. Here are some of the standout improvements for us:

  • Data analyzer: The functionalities of the data analyzer have been comprehensively enhanced in 2024. New features such as extended export options, cell copying, and an expanded context menu significantly improve user experience.
  • Enterprise planning: A key highlight is the continuous expansion of data actions in planning. New functions like attribute-based cross-model copying, unit conversion, and the ability to upload Excel files greatly enhance its potential.
  • Story design: The transition from the old to the new design experience has been facilitated by the new mass migration tool, along with the integration of popular features such as the time series chart into the new design environment.
  • Admin area: The new performance analysis tool allows for deeper analysis of stories by providing insights into the behavior of individual widgets and pages – a valuable starting point for optimization.
  • Data modeling: It is now possible to create and delete versions directly within dimensions in the model, streamlining the planning process.

Roadmap for 2025

We would also like to take a look at the roadmap for 2025, which includes some promising innovations:

  • Seamless planning: The integration of SAC and Datasphere will be further optimized. The ability to create models directly in Datasphere and represent them virtually in SAC will significantly enhance flexibility and efficiency. However, availability will largely depend on the migration of SAC tenants to HANA Cloud. Tenant migrations and the rollout of additional features for a “fully comprehensive” integration are expected to take place towards the end of 2025.
  • SAP compass: This new tool is expected to be available from early 2025 and will offer extensive features for scenario modeling and risk analysis using Monte Carlo simulations.
  • Data imports: Enhancements in data manipulation within import jobs will be inspired by the Pandas library in Python, making data transformation and manipulation more efficient.
  • Video data stories: Users will be able to create impressive animated videos directly from charts in stories, enabling them to produce compelling and informative visual content with ease.
