Connecting Customers – Noël Stolp about his role in the GenAI Taskforce

Noël Stolp is part of the Business Development Team of the GenAI Taskforce.

Faces Behind GenAI – Meet Noël

Noël Stolp builds digital bridges. More specifically, he translates technical complexity into clear IT requirements. His hobbyhorse AI has given him a place on the task force: As part of the business development team, he is responsible for lead generation and customer relationships. He lives in Düsseldorf.

What is your strength when it comes to generative AI?

The honest answer is that I never wanted to do intensive programming or become a developer. But I did want to understand how to translate complex technology into IT requirements. I have noticed that there is a knowledge gap when it comes to GenAI, so I try to break down the complexity for people with less experience and knowledge in the area and explain the topic in simple terms. This is frequently necessary in customer conversations. Companies are often not yet at step 3, the implementation of AI tools, but at step 1, being sensitized to the technology.

How did you make your way to valantic and into the consulting industry?

My 7-month internship abroad in Buenos Aires during my bachelor’s studies opened my eyes a little bit. I realized that I would like to see the world, get out of my hometown of Freiburg, and deal with a wide variety of topics.

At that time, I also thought of consulting for the first time, because flexibility and variety are important to me in a job. During my double master’s degree in Maastricht in the fields of supply change management and business intelligence, I arrived at Höveler Holzmann – a valantic company, through an internship, which was precisely tailored to my areas of interest. And that’s where I have been ever since. I have gone through various career stages, from intern to junior consultant to manager.

How did you become part of the GenAI Taskforce and what is your role in it?

Before joining valantic, I had already advanced this topic internally and considered how we could prepare for it as consultants. But it was more of a one-man show back then. With the connection, I made contact with the task force quickly and went through the internal application process right away. On the taskforce, I am part of the business development team, which is about generating leads and building customer relationships. That is, we have an initial exchange with potential customers. I act both across the group and on behalf of Höveler Holzmann – a valantic company.

What added value does AI offer you in your daily (work) life

I have become much more efficient, and the quality of my work has also improved. Instead of three new ideas, I now have twice as many thanks to AI. Especially when it comes to customer contact, I need a clear head, and AI simply relieves me of a lot of operational activities. I also love the fact that I can leverage the added value of AI in my private life. That’s how my grandmother came to name our webinar series: “The Magic of AI.”

In private, I also like to try out a few gimmicks: For example, we built an AI investment tool and tracked how the hypothetical assets would have developed. In fact, it wasn’t that good, and we were glad that we didn’t invest any real money in it!

And finally: What does your morning routine look like for a good start to the day?

It looks pretty boring, but it’s very efficient! I am not a coffee drinker, so I take advantage of every second in bed to sleep in as long as possible. And then I go straight to work without breakfast.

Thank you for the insights and inspiring conversation, Noël!
