The world is in constant change pushed by human innovation and creativity. Technology is an example of that, creating new ideas, devices and tools that allow businesses to be more efficient and faster. At the enterprise level we need continuous innovation and value creation, motivating people to constantly update their knowledge and pushing creativity for the benefit of all. That’s what motivates me — connecting state of the art technology with talented people to deliver value for businesses and their users which drives to a better world.

What makes valantic special for you?

At valantic we have a strong community of entrepreneurs that share a common set of values and objectives and who cooperate to generate value for our customers. This approach allows us to focus on our offer while at the same maintain the dynamic of smaller companies led by their founders. This makes valantic very special for me, it gives us the possibility to follow our initial dream, within a larger group that can offer broader solutions to customers and the confidence of a more robust brand. And this is not a story, it is a real practice that we experienced (and enjoyed!).

What motivates you?

I am a very curious person, I love to learn new things and use that knowledge and use it in engineering to create practical artifacts and solutions to improve people’s lives.
An old painter and wise friend of mine used to say “When the world passes us by the door we should give it a whirl!” This is a phrase that reflects well my motivation, to take advantage of opportunities to help set the world straight, to do what is possible to make the world a better place. In short, question the world, learn and apply that knowledge for the benefit of all.

What are your values & hobbies?

My set of values are honesty, pro-activity, responsibility, freedom and respect. I praise work ethic and knowledge seeking, and respect people for that.
I like to be near the sea, walking, cycling, listening to music and reading. History, leadership, technology and science are my favorite subjects.

Frederico, what did you do before joining valantic?

I have over 40 years of experience, starting as an Electronic and Telecommunications Engineer and later earning a Master’s degree in Computers and Software Engineering. During my career I balanced my interests for technology with business management positions, starting from real time programmer at EID, then technical director at Oracle Portugal, COO of Whateversoft (a Java development company), VP of Solutions Delivery at OutSystems and finally as one of the founders of Do iT Lean, a custom made web and mobile software low-code development company.
