Toralf, according to your motto, the customer is paramount in all you do. What does this mean in practice?

Digitalization is constantly pressuring many of our customers to change and to adapt their processes. I thrive on giving them my steadfast support and assistance as they navigate these challenges and the change process. Practically speaking, this includes further developing their electronic securities trading systems. This can take various forms, such as integrating algorithmic functions into valantic Financial Services Automation’s software solutions or ensuring the technical implementation of regulatory requirements for such trading activities.

In which ways have you generated value for your customers?

The enhanced automation of securities trading has a number of important benefits for our software users. For instance, faster response times and targeted pricing capabilities are indispensable for some forms of trading activities to be feasible in the first place. This enhanced automation also frees up capacity for strategy development, with algorithmic functions continuously monitored by built-in security mechanisms. Moreover, through our Managed Services, we provide cloud-based support for our own and third-party providers’ trading applications, offering substantial savings potential in infrastructure costs for our customers.

What was your life like before joining valantic?

After completing a traditional banking apprenticeship, I pursued further studies at the HfB Hochschule für Bankwirtschaft and the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. I then spent several years working in the capital markets sector for various financial institutions. In 2009, I joined icubic AG, which later became part of valantic, where I initially managed several projects for globally active clients. At the same time, I pursued a doctorate at the University of Erfurt, focusing on business law issues. Since 2020, I have been Managing Director of the Financial Services division, specializing in consulting and Managed Services within the capital markets sector. I live near Erfurt and enjoy spending my free time with friends and family and engaging in various sporting activities.
